Role Summary/Purpose
The Plant Leader will demonstrate accountability for functional, business and company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning and contribute to the overall Aviation business strategy.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide leadership to all organizations and individuals in the plant in order to meet customer requirements for quality, cost and delivery
Provide development of staff leaders to guide plant and support organizations
Work with customers, functional leaders and internal staff to meet organizational requirements
Lead the establishment and attainment of plant goals in quality, cost, schedule, delivery, compliance and safety
Establish and maintain the plant vision for success
Facilitate the leadership team in strategic decision-making and problem-solving
Provide leadership development and performance feedback to the plant staff
Establish and maintain positive corporate citizenship through community organizations and the media
Work with local legislative bodies to promote decisions with a positive impact on the business and to represent the legal entity
Develop and track expense and investment budgets with the input of each organization
Establish and adjust an organizational structure that best supports the plant goals and measurements
Provide ongoing supervision and counseling for leadership team, guiding them in current positions and assisting with career development and training for themselves and for employee groups
Work with authorities and connect to other Aviation functions in the country to comply with legislative responsibilities for the legal entity at Regensburg as its General Manager
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
At least 5 additional years of manufacturing / services or test activities experience
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to work within a highly matrixed and international business environment
Fluent English language skills
Desired Characteristics
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business is preferred
Prior experience in plant management and production environment is preferred
Knowledge of component manufacturing
Ability to work within a highly matrixed and international business environment
Knowledge of the disciplines of manufacturing management
Strong oral and written communication skills
Leadership experience ideally with multicultural teams
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Ability to lead teams through example
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes
Six Sigma training is preferred
NPI/advanced manufacturing technology experience
German language skills highly preferred
