Job description
Nike is looking for a Marketing Director Nike Sportswear responsible to provide brand management, strategic leadership, functional excellence and direction for the Sportswear category within the AGS Brand Management/Category team. Based in Berlin, you will be in charge of the creation and implementation of a strategic brand plan and the management of execution across the AGS region to fuel consumer demand, drive brand strength and strengthen the connection with consumers .
Impact of this leadership should drive significant bottom-line and market share results for the brand. Key Responsibilities: Leadership, Vision and Strategic Planning
Be the category brand leader for Sportswear in AGS. Act as the primary category brand connection point for the AGS region. Ensure AGS consumer and brand pov are included in WE marketing plans.
Develop long-term strategic vision of what the Sportswear category represents to the consumer and for the broader NIKE brand, to drive brand and business growth.
Timely and effective delivery of seasonal Marketing Plan through extensive cross-functional collaboration involving other categories and functions like Entertainment, Energy, Sales; RBP, Retail , Sports Marketing, PR and other relevant Functions.
Drive cross business marketing budget process for the category, ensuring visibility of all relevant category and functional spend and influence alignment against priorities (geographical and functional)
Consumer Connectivity
Lead consumer connectivity and concept development. Lead the process to gain insight from consumers in every aspect. Identify cultural trends and lead the full consumer deep dive in Berlin & Munich.
Integrate the country voice thru regular input sessions on consumer insights and emerging trends with WE Sportswear teams.
Ensure that all Sportswear category plans on a regional, and functional basis are aligned with this consumer vision and will result in brand and business growth.
Assess key concepts against Sportswear insights and the Sportswear category consumer vision, to drive a robust concept map. Drive a process that continually creates new consumer experiences to accelerate brand and business growth opportunities both internally and externally.
Drive execution of category marketing plan
Drive excellence in brand execution of Sportswear category initiatives, maximizing the creation of demand and sustained consumer connectivity, offline and especially online.
Ensure alignment, creativity and insight in all marketing disciplines and focus on cross functional execution of marketing programs
Work with functional marketing teams to plan & design a specific role for each marketing function to enhance impact of messages. Integrate communication across all relevant marketing levers, elevating the most important / relevant lever season after season.
People Management and Leadership
Engage, inspire and lead the Sportswear category brand team in AGS.
Serve as a key member of the Sportswear category brand leadership team in AGS and WE.
Provide clear communication across the matrix, and across WE and the countries. Act as an advocate for the Sportswear category, the Sportswear category consumer, and the Nike Brand as a whole and enable the virtual team. Provide leadership and coaching to all team members.
Regularly communication and feed back to WE and countries on progresses and evolution of strategies and priorities, to ensure constant regional alignment.
Desired Skills and Experience
Required Qualifications/Experience:
6+ years of relevant work experience in the area of (Brand) Marketing
Strong understanding of the category consumers and ability to connect with them through a sport and cultural lens
Ability to interact, network, build credibility for both themselves and the Nike brand
Digital and community Marketing knowledge
Communicate effectively inside and outside the organisation
Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
Ability to travel intensively
