We are looking for a:

Managing Director & Manufacturing Head
Based in Langweid (Germany)

We currently have a vacancy for a Managing Director & Manufacturing Head in our Textile Effects team based at our site in Langweid, Germany.



The position will have full accountability for the Manufacturing Site in Langweid and act as legal representative for Huntsman Textile Effects (Germany) GmbH as well as leading the local Site Leadership Team. It reports to the Regional Operation Director.

Key accountabilities:

EHS & Compliance : Aim at excellence and ensure continuous improvements in Environment, Health & Safety (EHS). Define and monitor EHS standards on site by building a safety culture and mindset. Continuously improve performance on safety and sustainability metrics through contemporary EHS practices. As Site Compliance Officer, ensure compliance to all relevant standards, both regulatory and Huntsman related
Operational excellence and cost efficiency : Deliver financial results (PSC, Capex, Fixed Cost, Inventory, Working capital etc.) and focus on cost optimisation and aim at operational excellence, benchmarked vs. best-in-class competitors. Lead continuous productivity improvements with a focus on speed and flexibility through six sigma and support the implementation of the manufacturing strategy (restructuring projects, make or buy, capacity expansion and production transfers etc.).

Asset Management : Ensure that assets and manufacturing capability both within the Huntsman site as well as at strategic Toller sites where applicable. Ensure flexibility in the production equipment and resources to enable a fast introduction of new products (time to market) and on the other side, reduce lead time, ensure a high service level and a low inventory
Toll Manufacturing : Ensure a safe and effective production of products for external partners, incl. negotiation of volumes and prices
Customer relations & Supply Chain: Drive customer focus on site through superior responsiveness and quality management. Contribute to the efficiency of the global supply chain by optimising the scheduling, order fulfilment and inventory management and quality management processes.
People and organization : Develop and manage a high performance organisation. Constantly review the staffing levels and the skill sets. Select, review, assess, train and coach the direct reports and other relevant associates in order to build/maintain a result oriented team. Supervise the talent bank process and the succession planning for the site.
Communication : Ensure appropriate communication flows on site and in conjunction with local HR Manager for the application of HR polices providing equitable treatment for all HUN associates on site, negotiations of working conditions with the work council.
Public Relations and community: Build relationships with the community and the local authorities in a spirit of good citizenship

Requirements:
· Education : University degree in chemistry or chemical engineering. Advanced degree together with PhD is an advantage.
· Experience : 10+ years in manufacturing in a regulated or semi-regulated sector. At least 3 years of site management experience.
· Know-how/skills : Excellent leadership and communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; financial knowledge; Fluent in German and English is a pre-requisite, other languages an asset.
